Business:

We will be meeting at Sam Weller's Tuesday, November 10 at Sam Weller's for a book signing at 6.
On Tuesday, November 17th, we will be meeting at Elena's again. The week after that, we will be on our own, meeting at Elena's then we will alternate between meeting with Daniel on Skype and having him with us at Elena's. We will be able to meet privately with Daniel in Elena's downstairs area for Daison. Daniel and Karen leave for SF on the 18th. We will continue to sit on Thursdays at Joan's. Daniel will meet with us again the week of the 24th at Elena's house.
If you are confused, talk to Daniel over the next 2 weeks.

Talk: Moving:

Daniel and Karen's lives are unraveling here in Salt Lake and and are re-raveling in San Francisco. Their house no longer looks the same. The leaves are still on the trees here, but not in the Northeast. There are very few things that are provable about life. One thing that is provable is that everything changes. No one would even argue that fact. It's a common lie that we don't acknowledge; that this will all end. We think all of our thoughts, relationships, job, etc are our identity and none of this is true. We're just a bubble that grows and grows then bursts. We are just encapsulated in this bubble, it bursts and then we are gone. We should learn this in the 6th grade. What would a bubble do if they were a traveler?

Somehow death brings out of the opera in us all. Be free of everyone's agenda and be free of your history, because after you go everyone is going to make it up anyway.

Most things you hear are lies, therefore you are free. The only thing worth doing is learning how to be free. Don't spend your time here bound and nervous or scared. Be free. Learning to be free of nonsense and fabrications of life and others.
People's philosophies about you are not true. Believe anything you want. "I choose to believe it' s important" (re: Don Juan and teaching)
Only choose things that enliven you and make you feel good. You don't have to buy into the conventions of others. Believe what we find works. Trial and error. Inner considering is a form of slavery. We spend our lives putting what others think inside of us. If we really understood what inner considering was, we would be appalled. Losing your life-- we act like we are going to be here forever when we're not.

Two Truths:

1. We are not here for good.
We're just passing through. Like a bubble, we are light, free. We can do whatever we want if we have courage.

2.Don't worry about what other people think.
Follow your own light. Don't follow leaders. Daniel is having us try and follow ourselves. Have the courage to be free. Don't do anything because somebody else thinks that you should do it. It's a struggle to get out of the I's of others.

Do we really know what others want from us? Do we want to give it to them? What do others want from us? $$, sex, adulation.

If you go to a Zen Center, you start out in Kindergarten: you act nice because you're supposed to. Instead go to high school. Be real.

Love is when a good thing happens to the other person and you are truly happy for them. You don't have to love people. Don't make believe you do. Not a chore. You didn't sign a contract.

Discussion: What do you want?

Other people's approval.
A deeply religious, Christ-centered life.
To be real.
To know what I want.
To be a certain type of person.
Sense of success in an intimate relationship.
To be anger and fear free.
To have the courage to take chances and explore and to be able to recognize what I want.
To be free from fear and to connect with the absolute.
A lot more passion to live life and to go where my passion and values are.
Sex, $$, to be awake and free and to be a wizard rock groupie.
Freedom from beliefs.
To be free of fear.
To write a bestselling novel.
To be independent enough to risk being interdependent.
To go deep into this/what we're doing in class.

Looking at our responses, they fall into one of four categories:
1. Intellectual/Mind ( I want to be a good person.)
2. Emotional/feeling (I want to feel less fear)
3. Physical.doing
4. Existential level

We all are conditioned to favor one of these areas. Look at our needs and how they fall into these 3 areas. If the 3 centers are aligned, you can do almost anything. Put the 3 centers together. Synthesis. Don't have conflicting wants. Don't compartmentalize yourself. Be yourself. Don't listen to others. Listen to your own drummer.

Remember to not be afraid. And you can't get what you want if you don't remember what you want.
